Treble Bar, Centre Barred Sallow & a Bee Moth

A much colder night tonight with a clear sky and a lot less moths than usual but an interesting bunch none the less with 3 new to my garden species. The Treble-Bar was in the trap early on, the Bee Moth I found on the side of the lamp holder when I was emptying the trap and the Centre-Barred Sallow was in the bottom layer of egg trays.
The trap was out from 9pm till 3am

  1. Well done on the Treble-bar

Just a few corrections, sorry to be a pain lol.

Your Scarce Silver-Y is infact a small Silver-Y

The Buttoned Snout is a Bee Moth, a largish Micro Moth.

    All the best.

  2. Hi, Ian. Sorry, mate, but your Buttoned Snout is a Bee Moth. It`s one of the larger micro moths.

  3. Wow!, a small Silver-Y!! it was only about a third of the size of the Silver-Y moths I usually get...amazing. I'm wondering now if the last 'Scarce Silver-Y' was just a small Silver-Y too....if only I'd managed to get some better photos of that one.
You're both quite right on the Bee moth, I saw the snout and things got a bit confused
